The Elma shipping container cabin is located west of Olympia, Washington, well away from the hustle and pace of the big city. The cabin is available year round as a very private vacation rental where you can explore the property and neighboring state forest, visit the town of Elma, or jump over to the Washington coast to enjoy its many beaches and places.
On the grounds there are many trails for your exploring, a year round stream and pond, 9 acres of trees, an obstacle course training ground under development, and a resident doe and her fawns to spot. Bring your bicycles and enjoy the 1/4 mile loop driveway, dead end road, and many miles of neighboring forest trails. Bring your boots and explore the forest. Bring your slippers and stay warm and cozy with an awesome view of the forest. There are also many many miles of trails in the neighboring state forest which we haven’t all mapped out yet.
The cabin itself is the first built by Montainer Homes of Montana. It is made of two 40 foot high cube shipping containers providing 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, and living area. We designed it with the goal of bringing the forest as close to the home as possible while providing a classy urban condo feel inside. The floor to ceiling windows, modern lighting, IKEA furniture, and tall glass french doors do just that.
The property is located 30 minutes from Olympia and Aberdeen, 60 minutes from Tacoma, and 90 minutes from Seattle… near the towns of Grand Mound and Elma. The cabin also provides a much more private option for those wanting to visit the Lucky Eagle Casino.
The nearby town of Elma provides all that you would expect. There are several restaurants, a grocery store, gas stations, a medical center with emergency room, pharmacy, gift stores, antique shops, and many events throughout the year. A little further down the road is the Grays Harbor County seat in Montesano.
We know you will enjoy your visit. If you have any questions or would like assistance in planning or arranging an event, outing, or vacation please let us know.
